Our Verdict:
The Jane 14L by Frye are definitely great boots. They're sturdy and a bit clunky without getting too casual or manly. In fact they've got quite a sleek feminine look. It comes quite classic and versatile with its perfectly rounded toe. The heel height is perfectly manageable even for long walks, although it may take a while to break in a pair since these boots are made of real thick leather up to the soles. It can be a bit slippery at the start, but they go away with normal wear. Unlike most boots which you have to order a half-size smaller, you can order your true size on this one. If you have bigger calves, you might have to stretch the shaft over a bit of time if you plan to wear them with your jeans tucked in. But if you have regular or thinner calves, that would be not much of a problem. The Jane 14 Stitched Boot is perfect for the woman who leans more towards urban and cosmopolitan fashion dressing. |

Customer Feedback- "This is my second pair of Frye boots and they don't disappoint. I bought the sunrise color and it is beautiful, it will look great with a lot of my wardrobe. I normally wear an 8 1/2 or 9 and purchased these in an 8 1/2, the fit is perfect. the calves are a little tight but I have very athletic calves so that's not a surprise. I'm wearing them around the house to see if I can stretch them out, if not I will take them in to a cobbler. Overall a beautiful boot that I highly recommend. And they are Frye, which means they will last forever! " - Actual User Review - Amazon.com "Pros: Beautiful, classic style. Sturdy construction, good craftsmanship. Been wearing them for months now and no issues at all. Easy to break in. Heel is perfect height, not too high, not too low, and very comfortable to walk in. Cons: With the sturdy construction comes a little weight. These are not lightweight boots but no worse than some of my other Frye boots. I know they'll last me for years and years to come. Very happy with them." - Actual User Review - Amazon.com "I LOVE the look of these boots and ordered them in the Sunrise color. The leather is gorgeous; the boots smell divine and are obviously very well made. Unfortunately, however, they're going back. My calves measure 14" around at their widest (what I'd guessed to be about average) but these boots look huge on my legs. They sag at the ankles and calves, even with jeans tucked in. If you're looking for a little extra room in the calf, these might just be the boots for you." - Actual User Review - Endless.com "These boots are SO cute and SO comfortable. I travel A LOT and these boots are easy on/off thru airport security...and are comfortable enough to wear all day and all night. Perfect with jeans tucked into them and a cute top - perfect style for all year round. This deep brown looks great with black, grey and brown as well. These boots are worth every penny. You won't be sorry!" - Actual User Review - Shoes.com |
